The CommunityWorks Academy is a hands-on, eight-week business development program designed to equip entrepreneurs in any phase of business with practical tools, trusted guidance, and real-world strategies they can immediately apply. 

Each session features a different industry professional who brings actionable insights and tangible resources directly to you. Our goal is that you leave every class better equipped to scale and strengthen your business. 

Over the course of the program, participants will gain clarity and confidence in key areas such as: 

• Marketing: Building visibility, refining your message, and reaching the right audience 

• Accounting & Bookkeeping: Understanding your numbers and using them to drive smart decisions 

• Tax & Credit: Positioning your business for financial strength and long-term stability 

• Funding Readiness: Strengthening your business to access capital when the time is right 

Each session is designed to provide hands-on resources, templates, and tools so you can walk away with next steps and real momentum. 

Eligible participants who complete the course and requirements may receive a marketing and/or accounting grant. To be eligible for the grant you must:  

• Be a SC Resident 

• Register for Training: $45 fee 

• Complete Class Requirements:  attend at least 6 of the 8 virtual sessions. 

• Apply for a Credit Builder Secured Savings Account: Apply during the first 6 weeks of class to unlock additional financial benefits. 

Upon completing the course and setting up your Secured Savings, you will receive a $500 grant for marketing and accounting expenses, as well as a 50% match from the Secured Savings program after one year.
